Register for a FREE webinar being run by ACPPA’s IT Business Partner ASUS in conjunction with Google Education and Datacom using the link below and please share the link with your teaching staff.  Once you have registered, a link to the webinar will be forwarded along with a reminder closer to the 10th of November date. Thank you for supporting this initiative from ACPPA’s Business Partner as they work together to provide PD for you as members of ACPPA.

Here is a synopsis of the webinar content: THERE WILL BE TWO TIME SELECTION OPTIONS ON THE  10thNovember 11am or 4pm AEDT

  1. Learning Ecosystems - the future of education (Google) -30 mins
    In this session we will share the evolution of learning ecosystems that have schools at their heart but connect students to learning, resources and experts beyond the schools walls. We will explore the many products and programs we offer at Google that create a joyous, equitable and learner centred learning experience.
  2. Redefine, Reimagine, Relearn (Datacom) -15 mins 

As a major employer in the ICT industry in Australia and New Zealand, Datacom understands the importance of equipping students with the skills required for the tomorrow they will embrace.  The Datacom Education Innovation Practice provides expertise and support to schools driven by our guiding principles; a focus on learning, to reimagine teaching and leverage technology.

A methodology has been created based on Australian research and government policy that aligns with AITSL requirements, the SAMR digital learning Framework, and Version 9 of ACARA. The Datacom Education Innovation Practice shares the building blocks used to leverage technology to develop teaching that gives students the skills for lifelong learning.

 Followed by Q&A up to 15 mins hence a webinar duration of no more than 1 hour.

  1. World Teachers Day- Hats off to Teachers

On Friday 28 October – Australia’s World Teachers’ Day – allows all of us to show our appreciation for the amazing work teachers do each day.

The theme this year is “Hats off to teachers”. Whether you are a beginning teacher, an experienced leader or you are a part of the broader education community, we also encourage you to share your “hats off” selfie and take part in the celebration.

Here is your regular update in just 3 points for your easy reference.

1.  EXECUTIVE OFFICER  FULL-TIME POSITION

The Australian Catholic Primary Principals’ Association (ACPPA) is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Executive Officer.

ACPPA provides a valued and considered voice for Australian Catholic primary schools. It is a recognised and respected national association that represents Catholic Primary Principals and Leaders from over 1240 primary schools and 150 combined primary/secondary schools from all of the states and territories of Australia. These schools educate over 400,000 primary students. 

Position Details

Recognising that the current President is a full-time school principal, the Executive Officer carries out the daily work of ACPPA as directed by the President and National Board. The ACPPA President is the spokesperson on all matters though may, from time to time and as appropriate, delegate that role to the Vice-President, National Board members or Executive Officer. Key responsibilities of the Executive Officer will focus on organisational development and strategy, policy, membership and budgeting, advocacy and external relationships, and public affairs and media. 

This is a national full-time permanent role with a salary commensurate with that of a Catholic primary principal associated with the NSW Catholic Principal pay Scales. Applicants from all Australian States/Territories are encouraged to apply. The position location can be negotiated with the successful applicant.

At last weeks NCEC Conference, our Executive Officer, Paul Colyer, presented our findings from our 2021 research work into 'Principal Perspective of Initial Teacher Education'
